Since it is through the Spirit that we have Life, let it also be through the Spirit that we order our lives day by day. (Gal. 5:25)
The spiritual reality of God known as the “Holy Spirit” is “Ruach HaKodesh” in Hebrew. Literally, he is the “ The Set-apart Breath or Wind.” He breaths Life into those who are trusting and living for Jesus/Yeshua. Then the Holy Spirit literally lives inside of his people! This is the promise of Scripture.
Spiritual realities are hard to define. They are like the actual wind, in that they are invisible, but they have effects that are visible, like the bending of the trees. Yeshua said: “The wind blows where it wants to, and you hear its sound, but you don’t know where it comes from or where it’s going. That’s how it is with everyone who has been born from the Spirit.” (Jn. 3:8).
We access the Spirit through prayer. We converse with him. Sometimes it’s an internal conversation, sometimes it’s out loud, but prayer is an action. Paul encourages us that through this action of praying, “we order our lives day by day.”
Prayer: Father, I choose to order my life today in your presence. I ask you to breathe your Life into me and fill me up. Fill my thoughts, my interactions with others, and my service for you today.
