SCRIPTURE: Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised. (Rom. 4:20-21 NIV)
OBSERVATION: God uses Abraham as a great example for us. God had promised him a son, but the biological time for his wife Sarah to be able to become pregnant had passed many years ago. They were old! Yet, they kept trusting God. What amazing faith it took to hold on to God’s promise in the face of what was, humanly, totally impossible! This is the same faith to which we are called.
APPLICATION: My mind doesn’t wrap around this, but God is so much bigger than my mind! I choose to believe what God promises in his word. I will not allow the outward circumstances of my life to dictate my level of trust in God. He is, after all, the God of the impossible! I choose to live by faith, not by sight (2 Cor. 5:7).
PRAYER: Father, your faithfulness and grace are so off the chart that I humbly bow at the thought of you! I now bring my impossibilities to you. I choose to believe in all of your promises. Forgive me for all unbelief I have allowed in my life.
